Puerto Rico's Defiant wins another Platinum Event following his victory at Evo 2025.
Runner-up BigBlack secures a spot in the Arc World Tour 2025-2026 Finals.
Defiant, representing Puerto Rico, emerged as the champion of the Under Night In-Birth II Sys:Celes division at Climax of Night Final Season: [breakadawn], held in Georgia, USA, from October 25th to 27th.
Outlasting a massive field of 491 players, Defiant achieved the incredible feat of winning two consecutive Platinum Events, following his victory at Evo 2025. This back-to-back triumph solidifies his status as the most dominant force in the current circuit.
As this was a designated Platinum Event for the Arc World Tour (AWT) 2025-2026, the Finals qualification was awarded to the runner-up, BigBlack (USA), as Defiant had already secured his spot. BigBlack, who placed 3rd in last season's Finals, has now secured his second consecutive qualification for the world championship.
The Grand Finals featured a showdown between Defiant, coming from the Winners Side, and BigBlack, who climbed up from the Losers Side. The two had previously met in the Winners Finals, where Defiant also claimed victory.
This matchup was a rematch of the Evo 2025 Grand Finals (including the bracket reset) held in August. While Defiant had secured a comeback victory at Evo, his momentum remained unstoppable in this tournament as well.
Although Defiant had been rotating between four different characters since Top 16, he consistently opted for Tsurugi against BigBlack's Byakuya. After an intense battle, Defiant won the match with a 3-2 score to take the championship.
