Laggia Wins the First Official "Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves" World Championship at SNK World Championship 2025

  • Reject's Laggia from Japan wins the first official world championship for the game.
  • DetonatioN FocusMe's GO1 takes second place.

From November 1st to 3rd, 2025, the SNK-hosted "SNK World Championship 2025" for the first official world tournament of Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves (CotW) was held in Atlanta, USA, with Laggia of Team Reject claiming the victory.

The tournament featured a double-elimination format with 32 players gathered from 14 countries and regions who had advanced through global qualifiers.

Prior to the release of Fatal Fury: CotW, the champion, Laggia, was an active player in the KOF series developed by SNK. He secured his early slot in SWC 2025 by winning the first East Asia Qualifier held in August, defeating his teammate, SCORE.

The runner-up was GO1 of DetonatioN FocusMe. GO1 was considered the top favorite for the tournament, having achieved back-to-back victories at major events like EWC 2025 and Evo Las Vegas 2025 before this championship.

η”°Grand Finals

The Grand Finals featured Laggia (Hotaru) from the Winners Side against GO1 (Marco) from the Losers Side. While GO1 had played both Kain and Marco throughout the tournament, he committed solely to Marco against Laggia. GO1 initially took the first set 3-1 to reset the bracket.

In the climactic final set, Laggia reached tournament point. The final round was a masterclass in the new system: GO1 successfully neutralized Laggia’s S.P.G., only for Laggia to burn his own resources to invalidate GO1’s S.P.G. in return.

The end came in a heartbeat. GO1 unleashed his Ignition Gear in a desperate bid for a comeback, but it narrowly missed. Laggia capitalized on the massive opening with a clinical full combo to seal the 3-1 victory. With this win, Laggia was crowned the first-ever World Champion of Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves.
